Performance issues in logview4net

Thu, Dec 20, 2007
I recently got a message from a user who had performance issues with logview4net when using the pause function in combination with lots of incoming events. Since pause is probably mostly used in situations when there are lots of events I guess more users than Bill and I have noticed it before. I have two cores on my main machine so I usually just let it be until logview4net has recovered by it self.

Kontera removed

Thu, Sep 6, 2007
As some of you may notice I removed the double underlined links from Kontera today. I found them to be a bit too intrusive. It was hard to read the actual text and see where the ‘real’ links were. No one was clicking them and I guess lots of readers found them to ugly to return here.

A ray of pain - scary

Wed, Dec 6, 2006
Wired reports here about the US Army testing a ray gun to control crowds. It will probably not be long until the we see these kind of devices mounted on surveilance cameras all around town. We’ll feel real safe knowing we can get hit by a trigger happy rent-a-cop whenever he feels like it.

The swamp of interfaces and factories

Thu, Oct 19, 2006
I stopped working on my assembly analyzer yesterday when I ended up trying to follow calls to methods in interfaces. The objects (forms) are created in a factory in an external framework out of my control. If this was properly documented maybe I could figure out what form I will get from the factory depending on the methods parameters.

Still no order to my mess

Net_Assembly_Analyzer. It does most of the stuff I want and the source is available for edit so I’ll continue down that track tomorrow.
