Irrational

I have way to much to do and all of it is by my own choice. I have some school work that should have been done two weeks ago and I am already behind with the math studies that I started this semester.

I haven’t done any academic math for about twenty years and it looks like I wasn’t taught the same amount of math that students today read at the same level.

On top of that there are loads of things I want to do with logview4net, jsiPodFetch, jsiServiceManager and two Swedish sites I am working on. (For you Swedish readers one of them is komdit.nu and the other one is still in the design phase.

If this was all work related stuff I would make a list and tick them of off one at a time, but now I am totally irrational. I sit down to work but I get nothing done. There is just one more blog post to read and one more WoW quest to do.

I recently added the UserVoice widget to jsisoft.com so please make sugestions and vote for them. At least that will help me prioritize work on the jsisoft side of things.

I just released a redesign of jsisoft.com

I used to run jsisoft.com (and jsisoft.se) on Wordpress, but since the content is very static it felt like overkill.
Now I have all of the site, including all file releases, in a Subversion repository. This way It will be a lot easier to have the application documentation in line with the current release. It also allows me to revert to an older version if (when) I screw up.
To support the development of these applications I will keep the ads, even though there is almost no one clicking them. Users are taken to a download page when there are new updates so there is at least some potential for ad clicking when a make new releases.

Support free software

Do what you can to support the free software you are using.

I estimate the user base of my free software to about 1000, but over the years I have only been in contact with a hand full of them. It would help me a lot with the future development if I got to know what the users want to have and what they don’t like about it right now. A friendly note or a feature request means a lot to me and I’m quite sure other developers feels like that too.

We, free software developers, spend a lot of time developing our software and some hard earned money to keep our websites and internet connections running.

If you like a product and want to support it go to it’s home page and check out it’s sponsors. That way the developer will get some money and the advertiser will get some traffic. It will benefit a lot of people. You don’t have to donate ‘real’ money but the developer will still get some monetary support and it’ll build your karma.

So the next time you use your favorite freeware; take minute and figure out how you can contribute to it.

jsiSoft in Swedish

Today I launched the Swedish sister site of jsiSoft. It is at jsi.se and all of my software that is translated to Swedish will be published there.

At the moment the screenshots for jsiPodFetch are still in English but they will be replaced real soon.

Broken contact form

The contact form on jsiSoft.com has been broken for a while, but it should work now.
If you have tried to get in contact with me through the About / Contact page on jsisoft.com and I haven’t responded; please try again.
I usually reply to email within a day whether or not I know how to answer a particular question.

My apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Download software from Softpedia

I’m actually quite impressed by Softpedia. They run a software download site that looks a little bit like every other one that exists out there. But if you take a closer look you can se by the screen shots that they actually take the time to install and do a basic run of submitted software.

I have three listings with them under the jsiSoft brand and there are probably more to come.
